wood floor coating

Nothing offers the protection to your wooden floor as that of a good wood floor coating. Once you have had your wooden floor installed it is important, even if you are going for the bare wood effect, to at least protect it with one coat. The quality of this coating is paramount to ensure the adequate protection of your floor.

You can choose between two types of floor coating. These are water based and oil based. Now whilst you may prefer to opt for the water based variety an oil based version will tend to last longer and give greater protection. With an oil based protective coating the oil will tend to soak into the wood giving a deeper protection whereas some protective alternatives just sit on the surface giving a surface protection to the wood. We have extensive knowledge of the various protective coats and will be happy to advise you on the pros and cons of the various options and which we think is the best option for your wooden floor.

A good wood floor coating is great for protecting your floor from dirt, dust, moisture and other demands placed upon it. If you are having the floor stained it also offers great protection to the color ensuring that it looks good for as long as possible. It is important not to underestimate the benefits of a good protective coating and to make sure that once you have invested in a good quality wooden floor that you do the best you can to protect and maintain it.

Once you have had your wooden floor protected it will withstand more wear and tear than it would without a coating but we will still advise you on the proper course of action when it comes to cleaning and maintaining your floor. A protective wooden floor coat should last you a number of years but there are still a number of things to consider when it comes to the types of cleaning products you should and shouldn’t use and when you should next have the floor coated.
