Over time, engineered wood can become scuffed and damaged. When this happens you will need professional help to repair and restore it.  Whether you need a small patch or several replacement boards, we’ll guide you through the entire process and find the most cost effective, efficient and long lasting solution to suit your needs and budget.

With engineered wood the ability to restore and repair largely depends on the quality and thickness of the panels. Some engineered floor panels feature a very thick solid wood top layer which can be sanded and re-coated. If this is the case we will be able to sand the floor back to the bare wood and stain and or re-coat.

If any damage has been sustained to the actual boards and they need replacing we will be able to remove the damaged boards and replace them with new ones. If the engineered floor is fitted over concrete it will have been installed using adhesive and possibly nails. We are experienced in removing engineered floors and replacing either sections or the entire floor. The first thing we will do is assess the condition of the floor and the condition of what is underneath. It is important to make sure there is no mould or mildew underneath and that it is watertight all around.

If the damage is more severe than you expected we will report on our findings and advise you on the best course of action to either replace or repair the floor. If we are replacing certain sections of the floor it will be important to find a match to what is originally there – if we can’t find a match we may be able to stain the entire floor. You may decide that you want to replace the entire floor with a better quality of panels. Some panels are thicker than others and the top layer of a good engineered floor is usually a thicker, solid wood. This is the best type of engineered floor to have and is built to last longer than the thinner panels.
